CYBER The term stands for both the world which the CYBER-SERIES inhabit (ie CYBER 755) and it will become the moniker by which those who inhabit HARDWORLD will refer to CYBER 755. It is Danny who gives CYBER the nickname CY when they meet in HARDWORLD. CYBERNEER A cyber engineer who pioneers net technology. DEPIXELATE The act of deconstructing a NETOID. As the term implies, this is literally the undoing of a being in the INTERVERSE. A DEPIXELATED NETOID can, however, be reconstructed if all of the pixels are recuperated. Conversely, pixels from different NETOIDS, which have suffered DEPIXELATION, can be combined to create what would be the INTERVERSE'S version of a Frankenstinian creation. DEVLAB ENTERPRISES A global conglomerate owned and run by Kenneth Devereaux, it is in fact a front for ECLIPSE ECLIPSE A clandestine group made up of the robber barons of the 20th century. It is headed up by DEVEREAUX, whose ultimate goal is the destruction and subsequent redistribution of the planet among his Cronies. - See Total Eclipse FLASH The act of becoming WHITE LIGHT. To a NETOID, this is tantamount to death. GUARDIAN SERIES PROTECTION PROGRAM The program that Dr. Cage designed to serve as a personal protection program ,namely the GUARDIAN SERIES PROTECTION PROGRAM or GSPP is intended to look out for the best interests of the user. It is a personalized program that anticipates a user’s every whim and need. Ex: If a single mom is doing late night ATM transaction, the program will hook into the security cameras on the premises and give any pertinent alerts. In the event of an emergency, it will notify the proper contacts and send a medical history to a desired destination. Its uses are endless. GUARDIAN of the INTERVERSE Title given to CYBER 755, KEEPER of the ORB HARDWORLD The term used by the CYBER SERIES and all other NETOIDS in CYBER SPACE for the real world. NETOID Term used by humans to describe the inhabitants of the INTERVERSE who crossover into HARDWORLD ("TOID" is the derogatory word for NETOID). A "NETOID" is a holographic that is bound by a kinetic energy field. - See Toid ORB Entrusted to Cyber (CYBER 755) for safekeeping, it is an exact micro replica of the Interverse. Cyber holds it in his right hand and puts his left hand on his buckle thus completing a circuit, which allows CYBER to replicate anything inside the INTERVERSE. The ORB reflects immediately any changes or mutations that take place in the Interverse. It is in essence a parallel Interverse contained within the ORB entrusted to CYBER 755. It is the single most valuable relic in the INTERVERSE its powers known by NETOIDS and VIRUSIANS alike. The fact that it is entrusted to CYBER gives him the supreme title of KEEPER of the ORB-this title would be equivalent to the word KING used in HARDWORLD. ORBIS This is the name given to the "hidden place", a place created by CYBER himself as fulfillment of his supreme directive which according to the program Dr. Cage wrote instills an instinct for self preservation, and causes CYBER to create ORBIS a place of sanctuary where all CYBER SERIES PROGRAMS can seek sanctuary and have time to RU. Not even Dr. Cage knows where ORBIS is as CYBER was directed to keep it to himself. CYBER has also filed all of Doc Cage’s research somewhere deep in ORBIS where it will be safe as long as CYBER can elude the onslaught of VIRUSIAN attacks directed by none other than DEVEREAUX who once he learns of the existence of the ORB knows all too well its value and will stop at nothing to possess it. RU This acronym stands for < repose and upload> a process by which CYBER SERIES PROGRAMS update their programming and stay a step ahead of the VERSEWARS™ game. TO SURGE This is the act of emitting an energy pulse which is capable Of DEPIXELATING or DEVECTORING any "physical" Threat within the INTERVERSE. This is the most extreme Act of violence a NETOID can commit, and only the special Ones can SURGE without the use of any weapons whatsoever, Only their programming is advanced enough to comprehend The process and manifest it electro-kinetically. It is the duty of The special ones to impart their knowledge to the remaining GUARDIAN SERIES PROGRAMS as Doc Cage programmed Them to do and this is accomplished during the time spent in ORBIS performing R U ORGANIZERS Cage’s team of protectors that includes Danny Vasquez and Dr. Moss. THRESHHOLDING A process pioneered by DR. GREENTREE for DEVEREAUX which allows a human to incorporate in the net. TOTAL ECLIPSE The code name given to DEVEREAUX'S plan for the annihilation of the planet. TWINNING The process by which a GSPP is "cloned" from a prospective user and which makes this program uniquely identifiable with that user. WORMPORT An access port which is used by NETOIDS to travel between the INTERVERSE and HARDWORLD. A WORMPORT can be any electrical terminal, or electrical channel. If a NETOID uses a WORMPORT during an electrical surge or storm , or power outage, that NETOID will FLASH. - See Flash. |
